Make Your First Looping Animation in Procreate Tonight
Animation Assist looks intimidating and is not. If you can draw three frames, you can make something move.

A still drawing that suddenly breathes is one of the most satisfying things you can make on an iPad. And the entry cost is three frames.
The blinking-eye loop
- Turn on Animation Assist in the wrench menu.
- Frame one: eyes open. Frame two: half closed. Frame three: shut. The app loops them.
- Set onion skin so you can see the previous frame like a ghost while you draw the next.
- Hold the open-eye frame longer than the blink, and it reads as natural.
Zainab Sakandal teaches this exact idea at Two Tap. The smallest motion, added to a still drawing, for the biggest effect. Zariehl goes deeper into full 2D workflow if the bug bites you.
